Hail stone the size of a pineapple
Texas is all about big things. So, it is no surprise that a hail stone the size of a pineapple was found near Vigo Park. Wally Epstein, a storm chaser from Waskom, Texas, said he knew it was about the size of a pineapple when it was first noticed because he tends to eat a lot of the fruit.
“I’m more of a kiwi guy, but I’ve been known to partake in a pineapple now and again,” Epstein said. “I knew it was way bigger than a kiwi or even a pear, so I was pretty sure it broke the state record. It’s exciting to be part of a state record. Oklahoma can’t touch us when it comes to the size of our hail stones. We’ve got big stones here in Texas.”
