Hollywood’s Edwin Buttonforver endorses Harris for President
Politicians routinely seek out endorsements from entertainment celebrities when they run for office. This year is no different, and yet it is. The Harris-Walz campaign recently received the highly coveted endorsement of Edwin Buttonforver, the lone Hollywood actor or music industry entertainer who has not attended one of P Puff Diddy Wa Diddy Boom Shack-A-Lack-A Boom’s infamous parties.
Anyone who grew up in the 1980s will recall Buttonforver’s recurring role as Muddy, the wise-cracking neighbor in the sitcom Who’s Spleen Is It Anyway? And, of course, he played James Brolin opposite Taylor Swift in the Barbara Streisand biopic Funny Girl, My Ass.
“For years, people made fun of me for not going to any of P Puff Diddy Wa Diddy Boom Shack-A-Lack-A Boom’s parties, Buttonforver said. “Now, it’s like I’m the only guy working in town. You know, I tried going to one once, but I got the directions wrong and ended up at some guy’s house who didn’t look anything like P Puff Diddy Wa Diddy Boom Shack-A-Lack-A Boom. He was some Italian guy who said he was in the import-export business and then had me removed rather forcefully from his front porch. I took that as a cue not to go to anymore.”
Buttonforver also noted that he is in very high demand as an actor now and even a singer.
“I have never sung before, but, you know, I guess I’m the only one in the entertainment business who hasn’t had to scrub their social media account the past few days,” he said. “Sirius XM has offered me my own channel. Plus, I’ll be replacing the late-night hosts – all at the same time.”
Buttonforver stated he has never endorsed a presidential candidate before, but finds Harris appealing in a Hollywood sort of way.
“You know how when an actor goes on Oprah or The View, they act like they know what they’re talking about, but after a couple of sentences, you realize they are complete morons?” he asked. “That’s how I feel when I hear Harris speak. It warms my heart.”
The Harris-Walz campaign acknowledged Buttonforver’s endorsement by issuing the following statement:
We welcome the support of anyone who hasn’t previously attended a P Puff Diddy Wa Diddy Boom Shack-A-Lack-A Boom party. We gratefully accept Edwin Buttonforver’s endorsement. Unfortunately, we can’t accept the endorsements of some other individuals, notably, uh, well, practically everyone else in the entertainment industry and half of the politicians in Washington, DC, as they are now under investigation.
